Frequently Asked Questions
How many recipes can you add to Cookdisk?
There is no limit set by Cookdisk. You can add as many recipes as you like.
How do you add recipes to Cookdisk?
The best way to add recipes is to type them in. Typed recipes can have their serves changed and will generate shopping lists. Another and quicker way to add recipes is to import files that contain recipes (like saved web pages, scanned images, videos, text files, etc). Recipes added by importing a file are categorised by meal type, cooking type, temperature and keywords and can be printed.
Can you add pictures to the recipes in Cookdisk?
The recipes that come with Cookdisk don't have pictures and there is no way of adding pictures to them. However, you can add files that contain pictures. For example, you may scan a magazine page of a recipe and picture and add the file to Cookdisk.
What is an extra licence?
Known as a workstation permit, an extra licence can be purchased by schools or organisations that want to run more than one copy of Cookdisk. Cookdisk can be installed to run the same copy on each computer or an individual copy can run on each computer. To support schools and business, JBT charges only $10 for extra licences.
Can you email Cookdisk recipes?
There is no specific emailing function within Cookdisk at present. If you want to email a recipe, bring up the recipe screen, click and drag the mouse over the recipe text then copy and paste it directly into your email using Edit-Copy and Edit-Paste. You will have to type in the recipe name and serves.
Does Cookdisk run on a Mac computer?
Cookdisk is a Windows program. Newer Macs have the ability to run PC based software if you partition the hard drive and use BootCamp.
What type of recipes are on Cookdisk?
Cookdisk has over 2500 recipes, about 300 of these come from the Australian Heart Foundation and have the keyword HF (the only keyword that isn't self-expanatory). The vast majority of the recipes in Cookdisk are healthy and contain only natural ingredients. Given Australia is a country of immigrants the recipes reflect an Australianised multi-cultural cuisine.
