You can download a free utility that converts and imports your old DOS recipes into Cookdisk. Before using the converter, copy all the files from your Old Cookdisk to a new folder on your computer. You must also have the current version of Cookdisk installed in a separate folder.
Downloading the Utility
Click here to download the recipe conversion utility.
The utility comes in a zip file containing Cookup.exe. Save then Open (run) this file. When finished, the converter application will load if the “Start Upgrade Now” box is checked. Otherwise, choose Start > All Programs > Cookdisk > DOS Recipe Converter. The prompts are as follows:
- Location of your new Cookdisk – type a folder name or click Browse to search for the new Cookdisk application
- Location of your old Cookdisk – type a folder name or click Browse to search for the old Cookdisk application
- Import all recipes – migrate all your DOS recipes to the new system, or
- Import new recipes – only migrate recipes with new or changed names
When you have completed the form, click on the Import button to get started. Importing could take a few minutes, do not interrupt the process by clicking Cancel or you will have to start again.
On completion, a message indicating the number of recipes converted will be displayed. All converted recipes are automatically imported into your new Cookdisk.
